Technology

In the world of Teaching, articles about new ways to use technology in the classroom are everywhere. Every teaching blog, newsletter, magazine and seminar covers new uses of technology. Teachers are constantly told that you, students of the 21st century, use technology every day, are tech-saavy, and need to be taught WITH technology because that is how you learn best. We are also told that, in order to prepare you for the modern workforce, we need to teach you HOW to use new technology effectively.Respond to that idea. What do you think about it? Do you think that teachers could be more effective if they used technology tools (think podcasts, web videos, online discussion forums, electronic assignment submission, tech-related project assignments)? Are modern students technologically inclined? What about being a student in Utah? Do you think that being in Utah keeps you a little behind-the-times as far as technology learning is concerned? Would YOU do better if more multi-media was used in your classrooms to teach and present, and for you to demonstrate your learning and communicate?

Personally i like to work on a computer. It is a lot easier. But the thing i really hate about teachers using technology is that they expect you to know exactly what you are doing for your homework from some stupid websight. don't get me wrong i love computers but i think it is the teachers job to give us the homework and reminding us about it instead of saying "thats not my problem, you should have checked school fusion." That really ticks me off. Especially when they say it isn't their problem. Well guess what? it is. Cause we are your students and we have to be here but you, you get payed for being here for crying out loud! at least you could help is out a bit.
Anyways a computer is really convienient for doing your homework because there is a lot of stuff online that you can look up and you can type up a paper which is way faster than hand writing it.

The thing i really do hate though is the stupid A+ system. We don't know half that crap and teachers expect us to. Well guess what shurley we can't pass the dang tests if the teachers haven't taught us yet. The stuff on those systems not even my teacher knows the answer too. And why can't we have our own laptops. That would be so nice to be able to have a computer on hand at all times. You don't even know. Because if you live in a house with only 4 computers and 1 that is way too slow and you have a family like me... well you are never going to be able to use one of those computers so you can't get your homework done. But if you have your own computer well than that is something. That would be so nice.

Teachers i goet along with

Since we're reading Nothing But The Truth, which involves a boy who doesn't get along with a teacher, I want you to consider teacher-student relationships you've had in the past. Have you had teachers that you just got along with whether or not you did well in their class? Have you had teachers whose personality just didn't mesh with yours? Without naming names, expound upon these ideas and thoughtfully consider how personality differences or similarities have affected you in your classes.
Most teachers i don't really get along with becuause they don't get my personality. They never know how to have fun or how to take a joke. I have no clue why. If you are going to be a teacher you might as well be able to get along with all students no matter what the personality. I have a very strong personality and i am very strong willed. But teachers don't get that. There are those few teacher that i can get a long with becuase they have that same personality as me and they know how to cope with loud students that have their own opinion. Those teachers are the freakin best in the whole intire world! they are so cool and i always wonder why all teachers can't be like that. The funny thing is that the teachers i really get a long with well are always the guy teachers. For some reason i don't really get along with girl teachers. I get along fine with all the girl coaches though. They are the bomb! I wish every teacher could be cool and easy going but some just think they have to dish out home work 24/7 and never stop to take a break and have a little fun. See me, i don't get that one bit...

Dear Chocolate,
You are the love of my life. What would i do without you. I mean just yesterday i went with Nikayla to get a chocolate Malt from Artic circle right before our game. You helped me play my hardest that game. But the other thing that really helped me was that matt was at my game so i played my hardest for him. Too bad Ryan wasn't there cuz i would have played even harder. O well he will just make it up to me by buying me chocolate so its all good. O chocolate I'm not sure i know what love is anymore but i am pretty sure this is it. I think about you 24/8 and i crave you all the time.

Honest

How important is honesty to you? Is it more important than kindness? Share a story of a time you or someone you know was not honest and it caused problems or was 'too honest' and it caused problems.

Eh... Honesty isn't that important all the time. I mean if it keeps you from getting suspended than hey why tell the truth? I don't think I can think of a time when honesty or dishonesty has been an issue or caused problems because honestly i have never payed attention to that dumb kind of thing.
You know... I could bring points up about honesty from Romeo and Juliet and The Scarlet Pimpernel. But I'm not going to because I am so freakin tired of those stupid books. There is no point to them and all the characters are freakin pathetic.
Anyways, people may think that honesty is really important but I say in really isn't. If you're so freaked out about honest and you are afraid that if you tell the truth you will get in trouble just don't get yourself in dumb situations if you can't handle it!

one item of food

The world is ending. There are natural disasters happening everywhere. You know that soon you will be stranded in your house with only the food left in your cupboards. You make a mad dash to the grocery store but everyone there is in such chaos that you know you'll only have time to grab one item before escaping with your life. What item of food do you grab?Describe what the food is, how long you'll wait to eat it, what it will feel like to know you're eating it for the last time. Will you share with your family? Will you hide it away until there's nothing else left? Will you eat it a little at a time or gobble it all at once? Describe every aspect of enjoying this last savory morsel of food.
Well first of all i wouldn't have to go to the freakin store to get food becuase i have a food storage duh! Becuase my family is smart and prepared. I could live off the food in my house for a long long time. There is a ton. But if i had to grap one item from the store i would grab some kind of chocolate I guess.
But I don't have to worry about it because i know the world isn't going to end. Just becuase there are natural disasters doesn't mean that the world is going to end. Whoever doesn't have a food stoage in their basement is crazy. I mean come on it's common sense. We even have chocolate in our food storage so i guess i wouldn't have to go to the store to pick that up :) there is chocolate in the MRe's that my dad brought back from the army so i am all set and i am totally not worried about being trapped in my house.

Super Power

Imagine that you have a superpower. The Power of Persuasion. You can convince anyone of anything. How would you use that power? What would you try to get, do, change? Would you use it for good? Or evil? Describe what the Power of Persuasion is.
If I had the power of persuasion I wouldn't be here writing this stupid blog right now. I would have already persuaded the President to make a machine that progrmas eveything you need to know into your brain so that you don't have to come and sit for 6 dumb hours or more at freakin school! And even if that couldn't be invented I would persuade the school to hire a cool principal and cooler teachers. Not all but most teachers are pretty boring and they have no idea what the word fun means. Seriously they need to lighten up. If we had more teachers like Coach Ray, Mr. Clemments, Mrs. Searle and Mr. Graves this school would freakin rock!!! And I would actually look forward to getting up everyday and coming to school. They are just the kind of teachers that know what the word fun means.
I would also persuade all my friends to come to this school so that I could be with every single one of them at one school. That would be awesome. It would be so much fun. Also I would persuade whoever the dumb people are that think dress code is a good idea and persuade them to change that rule. The other rule I would have them change too is the gum rule. It's just ridiculous. And I would also persuade the board to make the school bigger and to add a second basketball gym and a bigger locker room.

Book Review

I haven't finished it yet but the book that I am reading right now is called when forever comes. It's a pretty good book and it's been keeping me pretty interested. I haven't been able to read it lately because i have been pretty busy but I'm not so sure I want to go back to reading it. I have this thing that if the book isn't good and exactly how i want it to be than i will set it down and forget about it. I don't think I have finished a book ever since i read the twilight series. Readings really not my thing. But anyways the reason i am not so sure i want to pick it back up right now is becuase things aren't going so well in the book.
The thing that could make the book a lot better is if everyting went perfect but I guess nothing is perfect not even a fictional book. I was thinking about picking it up again and reading through the whole thing just in case things do pull through and the story works itself out. But I'm not sure i loved the book so much and i couldn't put it down till now and now i think i might want to start a new book.
I think i would give the book about 3 stars

Gabe was a well built 18 year old Marine. He grew up in london with his mother and 2 brothers. But his dad was never home becuase he was always away on duty. His whole life he dreamed of joining the marines just like his father, and now it was his chance to be as good. His mother disaproved of him joineing but he did anyways out of reblion. You see, Gabe never really got along with his mother so he felt that joining the marines it would make him feel better about himself because he would feel confident and he wouldn't have to spend all the time he had at home where is mother was.
Not untill 3 months into training did he realize how much he really did love his mother and how much he needed her but he couldn't go back now. He had to tough it out and learn to get used to officers yelling at him and not being able to come home to a nice hot meal. He was a strong man and he could take anything.
He was the type of man that when he smiled girls would just melt he was very handome and his eyes would sparkle when he smiled. But he had that handsome suave look to him when he was serious. He was a very understanding that is why all the girls liked him because he would listen and help them out and make them feel loved.............................................

My Ideal Christmas Break

I would love to go on a cruise with every single one of my best friends. It doesn't matter where i go on the cruise as long as it is warm. And if i couldn't do that I would Travel the world. Go to as many places as I can in 2 weeks. And of course all my best friends would come with me. If i could only bring two people with me I would choose my very best friends Lauren Lee and Mathew Benion. It would be so cool to spend christmas in a differant country.
If I could choose i would want all the best christmas pretsents while i was on my cruise. I would want an Ipod touch, a superman phone cover, an ab circle pro, lots of way cute clothes and lots of money, all of my favorite movies, new makeup, a chi or however you spell it, yummy smelling expensive lotion and perfume. Those are just a few of the things that i want. I could go on forever.
I would also love to go to africa. That would be so cool to be able to help out there and meet all those neat people. The only other country besides the US that i have been to is canada and that is pretty boring, so it wouldn't really matter where I went as long as I was in an exotic country with my best friends. :)
